On 10 October 2026 its US employer pages showed a free job post, Standard and Premium Sponsored Jobs priced by a budget Indeed recommends for each role, and a Premium Plus tier in beta. The one figure Indeed printed for a sponsored job was “from $61 per day per job” for Premium. Smart Sourcing Professional, the resume search subscription, cost $520 a month, or $416 a month billed yearly ($4,992 a year), with 100 contacts a month and extra contacts at $5.20 each. Indeed’s APIs are for approved partners only and have no public price. This guide explains what each option buys, where an “Indeed AI agent” fits, and works through four scenarios with the arithmetic shown. In some of them an agent saves money. In others it is an extra cost, and we say so.

People who search for “Indeed pricing” are usually about to spend money. A founder has a role to fill and wants to know if a free post is enough. An office manager has been told to “sponsor it” and wants a number. A recruiter is deciding between paying per job and paying for resume search. Indeed’s own pricing page does not answer the question with a price list, because most of its prices are set per job by a recommendation system. That makes the decision harder than it should be.

This article does three things. It sets out what Indeed actually charges, using only what Indeed published on its own pages on the day we checked. It describes the work that sits around those products, the screening, messaging, scheduling and reporting that no plan does for you. And it compares the cost of Indeed’s paid options with the cost of handing that work to an AI agent, with every assumption written down so you can replace it with your own. All prices are in US dollars, before tax, for the US market, read on 10 October 2026. Indeed says its pricing “will vary by market and are subject to change”, so check the page in your own account before you commit.

What does Indeed charge employers?

Indeed’s employer pricing comes in two families: paying to make a job post more visible, and paying to search for candidates yourself.

Sponsored Jobs: four tiers, no fixed price

The pricing page lists four tiers for a job post. The feature lists are fixed. The prices are not.

Tier

What Indeed says it adds

Price shown

Free

Post appears in search results; manage candidates on Indeed; screening questions, analytics, message templates

$0, subject to terms and usage limits; some jobs are “sponsored only”

Standard

Visibility boost, email advertising, job seeker feed, automated messages

Set by Indeed’s recommended budget for the job; you can change it above a minimum

Premium

First page boost, matched candidates, advanced matching, urgently hiring label, brand promotion, SMS messages

From $61 per day per job (shown on the Smart Sourcing purchase page), with up to 30 matched-candidate invites per day

Premium Plus (beta)

Automated invites, application scores and summaries, licence and certification gathering, AI follow-up questions

No price published

Three details from Indeed’s FAQ matter for budgeting. First, the minimum price depends on the market, competing job posts and the plan, and appears only when you sponsor. Second, you are free to set a budget different from the recommendation as long as it clears that minimum. Third, billing happens on the first day of the month or when your account spend reaches $500, whichever comes first, and the invoice reflects job seeker interactions such as clicks or started applications. In other words, Sponsored Jobs behave like an ad budget, not a subscription.

Smart Sourcing: a subscription for resume search

Smart Sourcing is the subscription for employers who want to search Indeed’s candidate profiles and contact people directly rather than wait for applications.

Plan

Monthly billing

Yearly billing

Contacts

Notes

Professional

$520 a month

$416 a month, $4,992 a year (Indeed shows “Save $1,248”)

100 a month per user, 6-month rollover; extra contacts $5.20 each

Includes the Sourcing Assistant, which finds candidates and sends outreach for up to 3 jobs at once; 14-day free trial

Enterprise

Custom

Custom

Custom volume

Dedicated onboarding, custom limits

Premium Sponsored Jobs contacts are separate. Indeed states that inviting matched candidates from a Premium job does not use up Smart Sourcing contact credits.

And the Indeed API?

Developers often look for an “Indeed API” to pull job listings or push postings. Indeed’s documentation site describes APIs for job postings (GraphQL), Indeed Apply, candidate sync and employer management, but credentials are “provisioned by Indeed” through its partner programme. The APIs are meant for applicant tracking systems and job distribution partners, not for one company that wants a data feed. There is no public price per call. If you are not an approved partner, the honest answer is that there is no API price to compare against, and you should not plan around one.

What is an Indeed AI agent?

An Indeed AI agent is software that does the hiring work around Indeed for you, inside your own employer account, the way an assistant would. It is not a scraper and it is not a replacement for Indeed’s reach. Indeed decides who sees your job. The agent handles what happens before and after: writing the post, reading the applications, sending the replies, booking interviews and telling you where things stand.

Indeed is building some of this into its own products. Premium Plus adds application scores and summaries, and Smart Sourcing Professional includes a Sourcing Assistant. A general agent such as Katteb works differently. It runs in a real browser where you are signed in, so it can move between Indeed, your inbox, your calendar, LinkedIn and a spreadsheet in one job. That matters because hiring rarely happens on one site.

Use cases for an Indeed AI agent

1. Writing and refreshing job posts

The agent drafts a post from a short brief, checks it against Indeed’s job posting guidelines, adds sensible screening questions and, two weeks later, rewrites the title and opening if applications are thin. You approve before anything goes live.

2. First-pass screening of applications

Every morning the agent opens new applications, checks them against the must-have criteria you wrote, and gives you a short table: name, fit against each criterion, one line on why. You still make the decisions. The agent only spares you reading thirty CVs to find the five that meet the basics.

3. Candidate replies and status updates

Many candidates never hear back. The agent sends the message template you chose to people who were not shortlisted, and a scheduling message to those who were. Nothing goes to a candidate in a wording you have not approved.

4. Interview scheduling

The agent offers interview slots from your calendar, sends a booking link and adds the confirmed times to your calendar. It does not invent availability.

5. Cross-posting and comparing channels

If you also post on LinkedIn or a local job board, the agent tracks applications per channel in one sheet, so after a month you know which source produced the people you actually interviewed, and whether sponsoring on Indeed was worth it.

6. Weekly hiring report

A short report each Friday: open roles, new applicants, shortlisted, interviewed, offers out, money spent on sponsorship to date. It reads the numbers from your dashboard, not from estimates.

Hand the hiring admin to an agent

Describe the job in one sentence, for example “every morning, read new Indeed applications for my sales role, shortlist the ones that meet my three must-haves and send me a table”. It works inside the Indeed account you already have, at whatever tier you choose. So in most of the scenarios below Katteb is added to an Indeed cost rather than replacing it. We compare it with the Indeed upgrade it might replace, or with the staff time it might save.

Pricing comparison: four worked scenarios

Assumptions for every scenario: US dollars, list prices read on 10 October 2026, before tax, US market. One month is 30 days for daily-priced items and 4.33 weeks for weekly workloads. Staff time is valued at $30 an hour. Sponsored Jobs prices use Indeed’s published floor of $61 a day for Premium; your recommended budget may be higher, which would widen the gaps shown. Engineering, ATS fees and job board fees other than Indeed are excluded.

Scenario A: one role, a small business, 14 days

A café owner needs one shift supervisor. A free post brings some applicants, and the question is whether to sponsor it with Premium for two weeks.

Option

Calculation

Cost for the period

Premium Sponsored Job, 14 days

14 days × $61

$854 (floor)

Free post + Katteb Lite, 1 month

$0 + $19

$19

Difference

$854 − $19

$835

On paper the second option costs $835 less. It is not the same product, though. Premium buys reach: a first-page boost, matched candidates and an urgently hiring label. Katteb buys time: it reads, sorts and answers the applications you already get. If the free post brings enough suitable applicants and the problem is the hours spent dealing with them, the agent is the cheaper fix. If the post brings too few applicants, no agent fixes that, and sponsoring is the right spend. Many owners try the free post with an agent for a week first and sponsor only if the shortlist is empty.

Scenario B: an in-house recruiter using resume search

A recruiter at a 60-person company sources for several roles at once and needs about 130 contacts a month.

Line

Calculation

Monthly cost

Smart Sourcing Professional, monthly billing

$520 + (130 − 100) × $5.20 = $520 + $156

$676

Same, yearly billing

$416 + $156

$572

Add Katteb Lite to monthly billing

$676 + $19

$695

Break-even for Katteb Lite

$19 ÷ $30 per hour

0.63 hours (38 minutes) saved a month

Here Katteb is an extra cost, not a saving. Smart Sourcing already includes Indeed’s Sourcing Assistant for discovery and outreach inside Indeed, so an outside agent should not be bought to do the same thing. It earns its $19 only on work Smart Sourcing does not touch, such as moving shortlisted people into the company’s ATS, chasing hiring managers for feedback, booking interviews or writing the weekly report, and only if that saves more than 38 minutes a month. For most recruiters that bar is low, but it is a judgement you should make on your own hours. The clearer saving in this scenario is Indeed’s own: yearly billing costs $104 a month less than monthly, $1,248 a year.

Scenario C: a growing team screening by hand

A 15-person company runs free posts and receives about 50 applications a week across its open roles. A manager spends about 4 minutes on each first look.

Line

Calculation

Monthly figure

Screening time today

50 × 4 min = 200 min a week; 3.33 h × 4.33 weeks

14.4 hours

Value of that time

14.4 h × $30

$433

Assumed time saved with agent summaries (50%)

14.4 h × 50% = 7.2 h; 7.2 × $30

$217

Katteb Lite

plan price

$19

Net result

$217 − $19

$198 a month in staff time

The 50% saving is an assumption, not a measurement. The agent prepares the first look and a person still decides. Treat it as a variable: at a 10% saving (1.44 hours, $43) the agent still covers its $19. At under 0.63 hours a month it does not. Indeed’s Premium Plus tier offers application scores and summaries inside Indeed, but because Indeed publishes no price for it we cannot put it in this table. If you are offered it, compare its daily price for the jobs you run against the line above.

Scenario D: a developer who wants Indeed job data

A startup wants a feed of Indeed listings for a dashboard. Indeed’s APIs are available only to approved partners, with credentials issued by Indeed and no published price per call. So there is no API cost to compare a Katteb plan with, and we will not invent one. An agent in a browser is not a licence to resell or republish Indeed’s listings either. If your product depends on job data at volume, apply to Indeed’s partner programme or use a data source whose licence allows your use. An agent is useful here only for low-volume research in your own account, such as checking each week how many local postings exist for a role you are hiring.

Which option should you choose?

Your situation

Usually the right spend

Where an agent fits

Few applicants for a role

Sponsored Jobs (Standard or Premium)

Rewrite the post and screening questions before you raise the budget

Plenty of applicants, too little time

Free or Standard post

First-pass screening, replies, scheduling

You source passive candidates every week

Smart Sourcing Professional, yearly if you will keep it

ATS updates, hiring-manager follow-up, reporting outside Indeed

You need job data for a product

Indeed partner programme or a licensed data source

Not a substitute

Several roles across several sites

Mix by role

One report across Indeed, LinkedIn and your inbox

Questions to ask before you spend

Is the problem reach or time? Sponsorship solves reach. An agent solves time. Paying for one to fix the other wastes money.

What is the minimum budget for this exact job? Indeed shows it only when you sponsor, and it varies by title and location. Read it before you plan.

Will you keep resume search for a year? If yes, yearly billing on Smart Sourcing Professional costs $1,248 less than twelve monthly payments.

How many contacts do you really use? Every contact beyond 100 costs $5.20, and unused contacts roll over for six months.

What do you want the agent to send, and what must it never send? Write the templates and approval rules first.

How will you measure it? Track hours spent on screening for two weeks before and two weeks after.

How to set up an Indeed hiring goal in Katteb

Sign in to your Indeed employer account in the browser Katteb uses, once.

Write the goal in one sentence, for example “keep my two open roles moving: shortlist daily, reply within 48 hours, book interviews into my calendar”.

List the must-have criteria for each role and the message templates the agent may use.

Choose the schedule: daily screening and a Friday report suit most small teams.

Review the first three shortlists closely and correct the criteria where the agent read them differently than you meant.

When should you not use an Indeed AI agent?

When you get five applications a month. Read them yourself. The agent’s value grows with volume.

When Indeed already does the job in the plan you pay for. On Smart Sourcing Professional, let the Sourcing Assistant handle discovery inside Indeed.

When the decision needs judgement the criteria cannot capture. Senior or creative roles deserve a person’s first look.

When you want bulk data out of Indeed. That needs a partner agreement or a licensed source, not an agent.

When nobody will review the shortlist. An agent that screens for nobody saves no one any time.

Common mistakes

Raising the sponsorship budget on a post with a vague title, when rewriting the title would bring more applicants for free.

Buying Smart Sourcing monthly for a year of steady use and paying $1,248 more than needed.

Letting an agent message candidates with wording nobody approved.

Comparing a daily-priced job ad with a monthly subscription without converting both to the same period.

Treating an assumed time saving as fact instead of measuring it for two weeks.

FAQ

How much does Indeed cost for employers?

Posting can be free, subject to Indeed’s terms. Sponsored Jobs are priced by a budget Indeed recommends for each job. On 10 October 2026 Premium was shown “from $61 per day per job” in the US. Smart Sourcing Professional was $520 a month, or $416 a month billed yearly.

Is there a public Indeed API with pricing?

No. Indeed’s APIs are offered to approved partners such as applicant tracking systems, with credentials issued by Indeed and no public per-call price.

Does an AI agent replace Indeed Premium?

No. Premium buys visibility and matching inside Indeed. An agent handles the work around the applications you get. They solve different problems.

Is Katteb cheaper than Indeed?

It depends on the comparison. In Scenario A a free post plus Katteb Lite is $835 less than 14 days of Premium, but it buys a different thing. In Scenario B Katteb is an extra $19 on top of Indeed. Read the scenario that matches your situation.

Can I try it before paying for a year?

Katteb Lite is billed monthly at $19 and can be cancelled from the billing page. Describe your hiring task in Katteb chat and see the plan before you run it.

Conclusion

Indeed’s pricing is easier to read once you separate its two families. Sponsored Jobs are an ad budget priced per job and per day. Smart Sourcing is a subscription for searching candidates yourself. Neither one writes your replies, books your interviews or tells your manager on Friday where hiring stands. An Indeed AI agent is worth paying for when that surrounding work costs you more hours than its plan price, and the scenarios above show how to check that for your own team. It is not worth it when Indeed already does the job in the plan you pay for, or when your real problem is too few applicants.

Put your Indeed hiring on autopilot, with you approving every step

Tell Katteb which roles are open and what a good candidate looks like.
