Slack Agent that automates mentions, channels and unanswered DMs
Work & productivity slack.com
Katteb’s Slack Agent reads your Slack channels, threads and direct messages to surface mentions, questions and updates that need your attention. It is built for team leads, customer-facing reps and busy makers who use Slack as their daily inbox and need a fast, action-ready summary.
What a Slack agent does
The jobs people usually do here by hand. Tap one in the app and it becomes a plan.
- Read my unread Slack channels and DMs and summarise what needs my reply today.
- Post a short daily update in my team's Slack channel from the notes I give you.
- Find every Slack message from the last week where I was mentioned and list the open questions.
Anything else you would do in this site by hand can be described in your own words: the planner turns it into a plan you approve before it runs.
What people use it for
Triage unread channels and DMs
The agent scans your unread channels and direct messages and returns a short list of items that need your reply today, with one-sentence context and a screenshot of the source message.
Post a daily team update
Give the agent notes and it will post a concise daily update in the team channel you choose, formatted for quick scanning and pinned when you want persistent visibility.
Find mentions and open questions
The agent searches the last week of messages for mentions of you, extracts each open question, and lists them with links and timestamps so you can resolve blockers fast.
Why it is worth it
- Spend under five minutes to get a prioritized list of replies and blockers.
- Keep a permanent screenshot-backed report of the messages the agent read.
- Reduce missed mentions and customer follow-ups across channels and DMs.
- Post consistent, scan-ready updates in the channel your team checks first.
Questions people ask
How does the agent access my Slack messages?
You run the agent from a private Chrome browser on Katteb’s servers. You sign in to Slack once by hand; Katteb never receives your password and the agent stops if Slack asks for multi-factor or a password again.
Will the agent change or export my Slack data?
The agent only clicks, reads and posts through the browser like a person. It cannot export account data outside the report you approve, and Katteb does not access passwords or long-term message storage beyond each run’s screenshots and report.
Can this run automatically every day?
Yes. After you approve a plan the agent can run now or on a daily or weekly schedule and deliver the report in chat. Each run uses your Katteb plan and is charged for what it actually consumed. Note there is a small risk of third-party account restrictions when an automated agent performs actions in another service.
