TL;DR. On 11 October 2026 the RocketReach pricing page listed three self-serve plans for one seat: Essentials at $49 a month billed monthly (100 email lookups a month) or $329 a year, Pro at $99 a month (250 email and phone lookups) or $829 a year, and Ultimate at $209 a month (1,000 lookups) or $1,699 a year. A free account gets 5 lookups, and a lookup that returns no verified email or phone is refunded. Team plans start at $6K a year through sales. The API is included on every paid plan, and one API credit equals one export. A RocketReach AI agent does not replace that contact data. It does the work around it: choosing accounts, reading their sites, picking the person, writing the opener and logging the result. The worked scenarios below show when adding Katteb Lite at $19 a month pays back, when it is simply an extra cost, and the one case where it can stand in for a plan.
RocketReach is one of the best known contact databases: type a name and a company, or a LinkedIn URL, and it returns verified work and personal emails, and on the higher plans mobile and direct phone numbers. It claims more than 700 million professional profiles and 60 million companies. That reach is why so many people search for RocketReach pricing before they commit, because the product itself is easy to understand. The hard part is working out how many lookups you will really use, whether you need phones, whether monthly or annual billing makes sense, and whether the money would be better spent on something that saves you time instead of buying more data.
This guide answers those questions with arithmetic. It lays out what each plan includes, how lookups and API credits are counted, and where an AI agent fits next to the database. Every price below was read on the official pages on 11 October 2026, in US dollars, before tax, for one seat. Where a number is not published, we say so instead of estimating it.
What are you actually paying for when you buy a RocketReach plan?
You are paying for lookups, not contacts. A lookup is the act of revealing the verified email, and on Pro and Ultimate the phone number, of one person. RocketReach’s own FAQ says a lookup is only used if it finds and verifies an email or phone; otherwise it is refunded. So the useful mental model has three layers:
- The match. Is this person in the index, and can the name and company be tied to a record? Search and profile browsing do not spend lookups.
- The reveal. The verified email (all plans) or phone (Pro and Ultimate). This is what spends a lookup.
- The export. Moving the record out to a CSV, a CRM or your code. In the API documentation one export equals one API credit.
That split matters because the cost of “a contact” is conditional. It depends on whether the match succeeds, which class of contact you ask for and whether it actually comes back. A pipeline that reveals everyone it finds will spend far more than one that first decides who is worth revealing. That decision is exactly the part an agent is good at.
RocketReach pricing by plan (read 11 October 2026)
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Lookups / exports | Contact type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | 5 lookups | |
| Essentials | $49 / month | $329 / year (shown as $27/month) | 100 / month, or 1,200 exports a year | Email only |
| Pro | $99 / month | $829 / year (shown as $69/month) | 250 / month, or 3,600 exports a year on annual | Email and phone |
| Ultimate | $209 / month | $1,699 / year (shown as $142/month) | 1,000 / month, or 20,000 exports a year on annual | Email and phone |
| Custom team | Through sales | From $6K a year | Pooled credits, higher API limits | Email and phone |
A few details from the same page change the maths. Annual plans list “unlimited” lookups in the comparison table but cap exports per year (1,200, 3,600 and 20,000), while monthly plans cap both at the monthly figure. Every paid plan includes MCP and API access. Pro adds technographics, news, org charts, CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Bullhorn) and 10 active Autopilot jobs; Ultimate raises Autopilot to 25 and adds intent and healthcare data. All plans can send up to 500 emails a day from the built-in sequences. The page also offers a 5% saving for adding a second seat.
What each plan costs per lookup
Dividing the list price by the allowance gives the ceiling cost of one lookup if you use the whole allowance. If you use less, the real cost per lookup is higher.
| Plan | Monthly: price / lookups | Cost per lookup | Annual: price / exports | Cost per export |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $49 / 100 | $0.49 | $329 / 1,200 | $0.27 |
| Pro | $99 / 250 | $0.40 | $829 / 3,600 | $0.23 |
| Ultimate | $209 / 1,000 | $0.21 | $1,699 / 20,000 | $0.08 |
Monthly or annual: the difference in dollars
Twelve monthly payments against one annual payment, same plan, list prices:
| Plan | 12 × monthly | Annual | Difference per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 12 × $49 = $588 | $329 | $259 less on annual |
| Pro | 12 × $99 = $1,188 | $829 | $359 less on annual |
| Ultimate | 12 × $209 = $2,508 | $1,699 | $809 less on annual |
Annual is only the cheaper choice if you would otherwise keep the plan for most of the year. Essentials monthly for six months costs $294, which is less than the $329 annual price, so a short campaign is better served monthly.
Let an agent do the research around each lookup
Tell Katteb who you sell to in one sentence. It finds accounts that fit, reads their sites, uses your own RocketReach account for the reveal, drafts an opener and logs everything in your sheet.
What can a RocketReach AI agent actually do?
An AI agent here means software that works in a real browser, signed in to your own accounts, following a goal you set in plain language. In Katteb it runs on a schedule, remembers what it already did and reports every day. Next to RocketReach, these are the jobs it takes on:
- Account selection before any lookup. The agent reads each candidate company’s site, careers page and news, and only passes the ones that match your criteria to RocketReach. Fewer wasted reveals.
- Picking the right person. It compares titles across the org chart and the company’s own team page so you reveal the head of operations, not three junior people.
- Personalised first lines. It writes an opener for each lead from something real on their site: a launch, a hiring post, a new location.
- List hygiene. It checks your sheet or CRM for duplicates and people you already contacted before spending a lookup, which matters because re-lookups of the same profile are free but a duplicate in a new list is not caught by RocketReach for you.
- Logging and reporting. Every lead, source page and draft lands in a Google Sheet, with a daily summary of what was done.
- Follow-up tracking. It notes who replied and who did not, and prepares the next touch for your approval.
What the agent does not do
It does not own a contact database. Katteb does not sell verified emails or phone numbers, and it does not bypass RocketReach’s limits. If your outreach needs the named decision maker’s verified direct email or mobile, you still need a data provider. The agent uses your RocketReach account in the browser, so its reveals come out of your allowance like anyone else’s. It also does not replace the API for a developer who needs to enrich thousands of records inside an application.
Katteb vs RocketReach: three worked scenarios
Assumptions for every scenario: US dollars, list prices read on 11 October 2026, before tax, one seat, monthly billing unless stated, staff time valued at $30 an hour. Katteb Lite is $19 a month or $190 a year (katteb.com/pricing); it includes 30 hours of agent time a week. The arithmetic is shown so you can redo it with your own numbers.
Scenario A: a local business that only needs published contact addresses
A small agency wants to contact 30 local businesses a month (dentists, gyms, restaurants). These businesses publish a contact address or form on their own sites, and that general inbox is the right destination.
- RocketReach Essentials, monthly: $49 a month ($588 a year), or $329 a year on annual.
- Katteb Lite, with the agent reading each business’s own site for its published address: $19 a month ($190 a year).
- Difference: $49 − $19 = $30 a month less with Katteb ($588 − $190 = $398 a year less against monthly; $329 − $190 = $139 a year less against Essentials annual).
The condition is the whole point: this only holds if the addresses published on the businesses’ own sites are good enough. If you need a named owner’s verified email, the agent cannot produce it, and this scenario does not apply.
Scenario B: a founder who needs 40 named contacts a month
A B2B founder needs 40 named decision makers a month with verified emails. RocketReach Essentials at $49 covers that (100 lookups). Today the founder spends about 6 minutes per lead on research before the reveal and on writing the opener: 40 × 6 = 240 minutes, or 4 hours, worth 4 × $30 = $120 a month.
- RocketReach Essentials alone: $49 a month, plus 4 hours of the founder’s time.
- RocketReach Essentials + Katteb Lite: $49 + $19 = $68 a month.
- Katteb is an extra $19 a month here, not a saving on subscriptions. It pays back if it saves more than $19 ÷ $30 = 0.63 hours, about 38 minutes a month.
- If the agent took over half of the research time (an assumption, not a measurement), that is 2 hours or $60 saved, for a net $60 − $19 = $41 a month.
Scenario C: a developer enriching 1,000 contacts a month through the API
A product team enriches 1,000 sign-ups a month with emails and phones from its own code. Ultimate covers 1,000 lookups a month at $209, or 20,000 exports a year at $1,699 ($141.58 a month averaged). The rate limit table allows Ultimate up to 50,000 person lookups a month, so the credit allowance, not the rate limit, is what binds.
We do not compare Katteb against this. It is an API job inside an application, an agent working in a browser is the wrong tool for it, and there is no fair like-for-like price. The useful comparison is internal: annual Ultimate is $809 a year less than twelve monthly payments, if you keep it all year.
Where phones change the answer
If calls are part of the plan, Essentials is out because it is email only, and the floor becomes Pro at $99 a month. No agent changes that: phone numbers come from the database, not from reading company sites.
API or browser agent: which one for which job?
| Job | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enrich records inside your app | RocketReach API | Programmatic, credit-metered, 1 export = 1 API credit |
| Weekly prospect list with research and openers | Agent + your RocketReach account | The slow part is judgement and writing, not the reveal |
| Contacting businesses through their published inbox | Agent alone | No paid reveal needed when the published address is the right one |
| Bulk phone numbers for a call team | RocketReach Pro or Ultimate | Phones only come from the database |
| Cleaning a CRM before a campaign | Agent | Reads, compares and flags; no new lookups needed |
How to set up a RocketReach prospecting agent in Katteb
- Write the goal in one sentence. For example: “Each weekday, find 10 US logistics companies with 50 to 200 staff that are hiring operations roles, find the head of operations, and add them to my sheet with a first line.”
- Sign in once. Sign in to RocketReach and Google Sheets in the Katteb browser so the agent can use them.
- Set the guardrails. Maximum reveals per day, the contact class (email only unless you say otherwise), and companies to skip.
- Approve the first batch. Read the first ten rows and drafts before you let it run on a schedule.
- Read the daily report. It lists what was revealed, what was skipped and why, so you can see the lookups you spent.
Spend fewer lookups on the wrong people
Katteb qualifies each account before it reveals anyone, then hands you the lead, the source page and a draft opener.
Common mistakes that waste RocketReach lookups
- Revealing everyone a search returns instead of qualifying the account first.
- Buying Pro for phones when the team only ever sends email.
- Choosing annual billing for a two-month campaign: Essentials monthly for two months is $98, against $329 for the year.
- Forgetting that on annual plans the yearly export cap, not the “unlimited” lookups line, is the number that limits a CSV or CRM workflow.
- Not setting an email type preference. RocketReach lets you choose personal or professional emails, and credits are only charged if that type is found.
When you do not need an agent at all
If you look up a handful of contacts a month and already know exactly who they are, RocketReach on its own is enough, and the free 5 lookups or Essentials monthly will do. If you are a developer enriching records in code, use the API. An agent earns its place when the time around each lookup, the research, the choosing, the writing and the logging, is the slow part of your week.
Frequently asked questions
How much does RocketReach cost per month?
On 11 October 2026: Essentials $49, Pro $99 and Ultimate $209 a month on monthly billing, or $329, $829 and $1,699 a year on annual billing, for one seat, before tax.
Is there a free RocketReach plan?
A free account includes 5 lookups with no card. After that you choose a monthly or annual plan.
Does a failed lookup cost anything?
No. RocketReach says a lookup is used only if it finds and verifies an email or phone; otherwise it is refunded. Re-looking up the same profile is also free while your plan is active.
Is the RocketReach API included?
Yes, MCP and API access is listed on Essentials, Pro and Ultimate. API credits and UI exports are the same allowance: one export equals one API credit. Rate limits rise with the plan.
Can Katteb replace RocketReach?
Only when you do not need a contact database, as in Scenario A. For named, verified emails and phones you still need a provider; Katteb works alongside it. Describe your prospecting routine in Katteb chat and it will tell you which parts it can take over.

The short version
RocketReach is priced by lookups, and a lookup only counts when it returns something verified. Pick the smallest plan that covers your real monthly volume, take annual billing only if you will keep it all year, and buy Pro only if you will call. Add an agent when the slow part is not the reveal but everything around it.
Put a prospecting agent next to your RocketReach account
One sentence about who you sell to is enough to start. Katteb plans the routine, runs it in a real browser and sends you the list with a draft opener for each lead.
